Joaquín Belgrano
Joaquín Belgrano (1773–1848) was an Argentine patriot, who participated in the defense of Buenos Aires against the English, and who took part in the May Revolution, as one of the neighbors attending the Cabildo Abierto of May 22, 1810. He was one of Manuel Belgrano's brothers. Biography He was born in Buenos Aires, son of Domingo Belgrano and María Josefa González Casero. He was married to Catalina María Marcelina Melián y Correa, daughter of Antonio Melián Betancour, born in Seville, and María Josefa Correa Lescano, belonging to a Creole family of Buenos Aires.. Joaquín Belgrano completed his secondary education at the Royal College of San Carlos, and was possibly graduated in law in Chuquisaca. Belgrano III Base
Belgrano III Base ( es, Base Belgrano III) was a permanent, all year-round Argentine Antarctic base and scientific research station named after General Manuel Belgrano, one of the Libertadores and the creator of the Argentine Flag. It was located on Berkner Island on the Filchner Ice Shelf. At the time of its inauguration it was Argentina's southernmost permanent base. It was shut down in 1984 over safety concerns due to it being built on increasingly unstable ice, which endangered both personnel and equipment. Belgrano Athletic Club is an Argentine amateur sports club from Belgrano, Buenos Aires. One of Argentina's oldest institutions still in existence, Belgrano was one of the four clubs that founded the Argentine Rugby Union in 1899.
