Belgium entered the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with Vanessa Chinitor and "Like the Wind". The song was selected to represent Belgium at the contest by winning the Belgium national final Eurosong '99. Vanessa Chinitor (born 13 October 1976, Dendermonde, East Flanders) is a Belgian singer, best known outside Belgium for her participation in the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career In 1996, Chinitor was a finalist in the VTM talent show ''Ontdek de Ster'' (''Discover the Star''). She released her first single, "In al mijn dromen", in 1998. Eurovision Song Contest In 1999, Chinitor's song " Like the Wind" was chosen as the Belgian representative in the 44th Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 29 May in Jerusalem. K3 is a Belgium, Belgian-Netherlands, Dutch girl group with a Dutch language, Dutch-language pop repertoire, consisting of Hanne Verbruggen, Marthe De Pillecyn and Julia Boschman. Maribel Pérez (born 29 January 1976), best known by her stage name Belle Perez, is a Belgian-Spanish musician and songwriter. Born in Neerpelt to Spanish parents as María Isabelle Pérez Cerezo, the Flemish singer was discovered for her musical talents by Patrick Renier at a local talent show in 1997 at the age of 21.
