Belgian Railway Line 162
The Belgian railway line 162 is a railway line in Belgium connecting Namur to the Luxembourg border at Sterpenich (Arlon). Completed in 1859, the line runs 146.8 km. Together with the Belgian railway line 161 (Brussels – Namur railway station, Namur) and the CFL Line 50 (Arlon, Sterpenich – Luxembourg City), it forms the important rail link between Brussels and Luxembourg. August 2022 work will start on having the electrification switched over to 25kV these works are part of a desire to increase the speed, load and frequency of rail traffic. Namur railway station (french: Gare de Namur, nl, Station Namen), officially Namur, is the main railway station serving Namur, Belgium. The station is used by 18,600 people every day, making it the eighth-busiest station in Belgium and the busiest in Wallonia. It is operated by the National Railway Company of Belgium (SNCB/NMBS). Rodange
Rodange (german: Rodingen) is a town in the commune of Pétange, in south-western Luxembourg. It lies next to the border with Belgium, across which is the town of Athus. The town is to the south-west of the town of Pétange and to the west of the smaller town of Lamadelaine. , Rodange has a population of 5,505, making it the 18th-most populous town in Luxembourg. Athus
Athus (german: Athem, lb, Attem, wa, Atu) is a part of Aubange city Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Aubange, located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. It is located in the far south of the country, just near the borders with France and Luxembourg. It is a French speaking city, though the traditional language is Luxembourgish. The poet and novelist Hubert Juin (1926–1987) was born in Athus. The city was famous during the 19th and 20th century because of its steelworks factory which closed in the 1970s. Bertrix (; wa, Bietris) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2007 the municipality, which covers 137.7 km², had 8,164 inhabitants, giving a population density of 59.3 inhabitants per km². Bertrix is home to the NATO reserve Jehonville Air Base.
