The Belarus International in badminton is an international open held in Belarus since 2018 and are thereby one of the most recent international championships in Europe. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine On 24 February 2022, in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014. The invasion has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths on both sides. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Lei Lanxi (; born 25 January 1998) is a Chinese badminton player. He won a gold medal at the 2016 BWF World Junior Championships in the mixed team event. Early life Lei was born in Dongguan, Guangdong. He started playing badminton at the age of 9 and entered the Dongguan Sports School, where he received scholarship from Tang Xianhu. Career In 2016, Lei competed in the BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event and was selected to play against the Armenian team in the group stage. Ren Xiangyu
Ren Xiangyu (; born 23 October 1998) is a Chinese badminton player. Born in Luzhou, Sichuan province, he has shown his talent in badminton since he was a child. He once trained at the Luzhou sports school, and entered the national team in 2016. He helped the junior national team to clinch the mixed team titles at the 2015 and 2016 Asian Junior Championships, and also at the 2015 and 2016 World Junior Championships. Zhang Shuxian ( zh, 张殊贤; ''Zhāng Shūxián'') is a Chinese badminton player. Career Early career Zhang attended Luzhou Zilu Road School. Later, she was recommended by the city sports school to enter the Sichuan badminton team training, and was transferred to the Sichuan team as an official member in 2016, and was selected for China in the same year in national youth team. Zhang Nan (; born 1 March 1990) is a Chinese badminton player who specializes in both men's and mixed doubles. He found much success in mixed doubles with his former partner Zhao Yunlei. Ou Xuanyi (; born 23 January 1994) is a Chinese badminton player. Career summary Ou made his debut in an international tournament by competing at the 2013 China Masters. In 2017, he clinched his first international title by winning the mixed doubles title at the Indonesia International Series tournament partnered with Liu Lin. Wang Zhiyi
Wang Zhiyi (; born 29 April 2000) is a Chinese badminton player from Shashi, Jingzhou, in Hubei province. She started her career as a badminton player by training in Jingzhou sports school. She went to the Hubei provincial training centre in 2009, and was selected to join the team in 2013. In 2016, Wang joined the national team, and became part of the national second team in 2017.
