Beirut Madinati
Beirut Madinati (Beirut My City) is a volunteer-led political campaign emerged in April 2016 to run in 8 May 2016 Beirut municipality elections and in the 2022 Lebanese general elections. The campaign launched from the 2015–16 Lebanese protests as a reaction to power and water shortages, streets filled with trash and a dizzying urban infrastructure. It built its campaign around a 10 point program where it promises to work on (1) mobility, (2) greenery and public spaces, (3) affordable housing, (4) waste management, (5) natural heritage, (6) community spaces and services, (7) socio-economic development, (8) environmental sustainability, (9) health and safety and (10) municipal governance. Badaro
Badaro is a well-known residential neighborhood and business hub in the heart of Beirut. The neighborhood is roughly bounded by the Pierre Gemayel avenue on the north, the Hippodrome on the west, Sami el Solh avenue on the east, Beirut's pine forest on the southeast and the Tayyouneh roundabout on the south. Badaro is the common name of Beirut's "Horsh" (park) administrative district which also includes three parks: a pine forest known as Horsh Beirut, the Beirut Hippodrome and the Pine Residence, the French ambassador's residence. 2022 Lebanese General Election
The 2022 Lebanese general election is the upcoming general election in Lebanon, scheduled for 15 May 2022. Background 2019–21 protests Large-scale anti-government demonstrations ignited in the country from 17 October. Initially triggered in response to a rise in gas and tobacco prices as well as a new tax on messaging applications, the demonstrations quickly turned into a revolution against the stagnation of the economy, unemployment, Lebanon's sectarian and hereditary political system, corruption and the government's inability to provide essential services such as water, electricity and sanitation, Saad Hariri ended up resigning on 29 October 2019. Saad Hariri
Saad El-Din Rafik Al-Hariri ( ar, سعد الدين رفيق الحريري, translit=Saʿd ad-Dīn Rafīq al-Ḥarīrī; born 18 April 1970) is a Lebanese-Saudi politician who served as the prime minister of Lebanon from 2009 to 2011 and 2016 to 2020.
