Natural Resource Charter
The Natural Resource Charter is a global initiative to assist governments and societies of countries rich in non-renewable natural resources to effectively govern those resources in a way that generates economic growth, promotes the welfare of the population and is environmentally sustainable. The Charter is made up of 12 best practice principles, which cover the sequence of choices faced by governments in relation to resource extraction. These range from how to create the right environment for responsible investment, to fiscal terms, contracts, institutions and regulations, to macroeconomic management and strategies for sustainable development. Vick Vanlian (1977-2017) was a Lebanese-Armenian designer and the founder of interior design company Vick Vanlian / V World. He was famed for his upbeat personality and his quirky, boundary-pushing interior designs. Education Vanlian graduated with high distinction in 2000 with a degree in Interior Architecture from the Lebanese American University in Beirut. During his time in university, Vanlian began working on design projects at his father's furniture shops, leading to his career in interior design. Octavia Nasr ( ar, اوكتافيا نصر) (born 13 March 1966) is a Lebanese-American Rhetoric scholar anauthorwhosresearchfocuses on Yoga's identity and ethical code and how they apply to journalism and other fields. Salwa Nassar
Salwa Nassar (1913 — February 17, 1967) was a Lebanese nuclear physicist and college administrator. She was the first Lebanese woman to earn a PhD in physics. Early life Salwa Chukri Nassar was from Dhour-el-Shweir, and attended Brummana High School and the American Junior College for Women in Beirut. She was the first woman student in the mathematics program at American University of Beirut. She taught for a few years at Birzeit College after graduating, then enrolled in graduate school at Smith College, where she earned a master's degree in physics in 1940. She completed doctoral studies at the University of California at Berkeley in 1945, where she was the eighth woman to earn a PhD in physics. May Nasr
May Nasr ( ar, مي نصر; born 1965) is a Lebanese singer, musician and microfinancing consultant. She was born in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 1965 and she got a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Beirut in 1987. Biography She appeared for the first time as a singer with the Lebanese composer Zaki Nassif and artist Farid Abu Alkher, and trained with them between 1997 and 2002. Then she worked with Badia Haddad between 2004 and 2009. May Nasr sings classic songs from the Lebanese and Syrian heritage, especially songs of Lebanese singer Fairuz.
