The Beijing ePrix was an automobile race of the Formula E championship in Beijing, People's Republic of China. It was first raced in the 2014-15 season, of which the 2014 Beijing ePrix was the first Formula E race in history. Circuit The ePrix took place at the Beijing Olympic Green Circuit. It ran around the grounds of the "Bird's Nest" Olympic stadium used in the 2008 Summer Olympics. The track featured 20 turns, and at was the longest track used in Formula E. Takuma Sato
, nicknamed "Taku", is a Japanese professional racing driver. Sato is a two time winner of the Indianapolis 500, having won the event in 2017 and 2020. He was the first Asian driver to win the Indianapolis 500, and the twentieth driver to win the race more than once. Before winning the Indianapolis 500, Sato became the first Japanese-born driver to win an IndyCar Series race when he won the 2013 Grand Prix of Long Beach. The 2015 Beijing ePrix, formally the 2015 FIA Formula E SWUSP Beijing ePrix, was a FIA Formula E Championship, Formula E Auto racing, motor race that was held on 24 October 2015 at the Beijing Olympic Green Circuit in Beijing, China. It was the second edition of the Beijing ePrix and the first race of the 2015–16 Formula E season, second season of the Electric Car, electrically powered racing car series. The race was dominated by Sébastien Buemi, who won starting from pole position. Team Aguri, formerly Amlin Aguri and officially the Team Aguri Formula E Team, was an international motor racing team founded by former Formula One and 24 Hours of Le Mans driver Aguri Suzuki (Executive Chairman) and Mark Preston (Team Principal) to compete in the FIA Formula E Championship for electric cars.
