Larissa Yasmin Behrendt (born 1969) is an Australian legal academic, writer, filmmaker and Indigenous rights advocate. she is a professor of law and director of research and academic programs at the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research at the University of Technology Sydney, and holds the inaugural Chair in Indigenous Research at UTS. Early life and education Behrendt was born in Cooma, New South Wales, in 1969, of Eualeyai/ Kamillaroi descent on her father's side. Her mother, who was non-Indigenous, worked in naval intelligence, while her father was an air traffic controller and later an Aboriginal Studies academic. He established the Aboriginal Research and Resource Centre at the University of New South Wales, Sydney in 1988, around the time when Behrendt commenced studying there. Brian Behrendt (born 24 October 1991) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for 2. Bundesliga club Eintracht Braunschweig. Career Behrendt started playing football with local clubs Bremervörder SC and TuS Heeslingen. Walter Behrendt
Walter Behrendt (18 September 1914 in Dortmund – 23 July 1997 in Dortmund) was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and president of the European parliament (1971–1973). Behrendt was trained as a merchant and accountant. He took part in World War II and afterwards worked as clerk in an industrial firm. In 1954 he became a contributor to the company journal of Hoesch-Westfalenhütte AG in Dortmund. Behrendt joined SPD in 1932 being a member of the ''Socialist Working Youth'' (Sozialistische Arbeiterjugend). From 1945 to 1947 he was chairman of the regional ''Socialist Youth'' for Dortmund, Lünen and Castrop-Rauxel. He was chairman of the SPD branch in Dortmund-Altenderne in 1951/52 and in Dortmund from 1952 to 1955. From 1952 until his death Behrendt was municipal councillor in Dortmund. Gerhardt Behrendt (3 April 1929, Potsdam – 26 September 2006, Berlin) was a German director, Puppet designer, and author of the ''Sandmännchen'' character for the ''Deutscher Fernsehfunk'' Berlin. Life and work Behrendt started his career in 1943 as a painter apprentice at the Preußisches Staatstheater Berlin in the area of scenic painting. He continued his studies after the end of World War II (1945) at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin. During this time he also worked as an actor and comedian. In 1946 he started work in his chosen field, but also published caricatures. He went to Potsdam in 1948, and was certified as set designer by the State of Brandenburg one year later. Dagmar Roth-Behrendt (born 21 February 1953, in Frankfurt am Main) is a German lawyer who served as Member of the European Parliament. She was elected on the SPD ticket and sat with the Party of European Socialists group. Political career Roth-Behrendt was a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 2014. From 2004 until 2007 and from 2009 to 2012 she served as one of the 14 Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament, first under the leadership of President Josep Borrell and later Jerzy Buzek.
