Behind The Times (EP)
''Behind the Times E.P.'' is an EP by AFI, released on 11 June 1993 on Key Lime Pie Records. It is the band's first EP, and second overall after their split EP with Loose Change earlier in the year. The EP was reissued in October 2016 via Atom Age Industries, a company owned by former AFI bassist Geoff Kresge. The reissue featured slightly altered artwork on a glossier sleeve, but was otherwise identical. Tracks 1 and 2 were re-recorded and released on the vinyl pressing of ''Very Proud of Ya'' and later on the AFI retrospective. Tracks 3-5 were rerecorded for AFI's debut full-length album, ''Answer That and Stay Fashionable''. AFI (band)
AFI (abbreviation for A Fire Inside) is an American rock band from Ukiah, California, formed in 1991. Since 1998, it consists of lead vocalist Davey Havok, drummer and backing vocalist Adam Carson, bassist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Hunter Burgan, and guitarist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Jade Puget. Havok and Carson are the sole remaining original members. Originally a hardcore punk band, they have since delved into many genres, starting with horror punk and following through post-hardcore and emo into alternative rock and gothic rock. AFI has released eleven studio albums, ten EPs, one live album and one DVD. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Dork (EP)
''Dork'' / ''Stick Around'' is a split extended play by American punk rock bands AFI and Loose Change (which featured future AFI guitarist Jade Puget), released on March 2, 1993, on Key Lime Pie Records and Wilson House Records. This was AFI's first release, put out within a year of the band's formation, and was limited to around 200 copies. The cover is a picture of AFI drummer Adam Carson. "NyQuil" was written by then-bassist Vic Chalker, and was re-recorded for the band's first full-length album, ''Answer That and Stay Fashionable''. Counterfeits were sold on eBay for at least a year, which prompted former AFI bassist Geoff Kresge to reveal their inauthenticity. ''Eddie Picnic's All Wet'' is a live EP by American rock band AFI. It was recorded on December 29, 1993 during a show at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, California and released on March 18, 1994 through Key Lime Pie Records. 201 copies were produced on pink vinyl for its first pressing. The second pressing was limited to 100. A reissue, featuring slightly different artwork and remastered tracks, was announced in 2015 and released in 2016 after a pressing delay. The reissue was handled by Atom Age Industries, a company owned by former AFI bassist Geoff Kresge. Geoff Kresge
Geoff Kresge is a songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and record producer. He played with the punk rock/horror punk band AFI for most of their early career, from 1992 through 1997, and co-wrote the majority of their early material alongside frontman Davey Havok. During an AFI hiatus in 1993, he briefly moved to New York to join street punk band Blanks 77. He later went on to play with Canadian horror rock group The Forbidden Dimension and also a high-energy rock band, The Daggers, before subsequently joining the psychobilly band Tiger Army. Though he played an electric bass in his previous bands, for Tiger Army he chose an upright bass. Career Kresge joined Tiger Army in 1999 just as the band became a full-time touring band, hitting the road in support of their debut album. He appeared as standup bassist on the band's next two full-length albums, Tiger Army II: Power of Moonlite and Tiger Army III: Ghost Tigers Rise, and in each of the videos from those records. ''Very Proud of Ya'' is the second studio album by American rock band AFI. It was released on June 18, 1996, through Nitro Records. Background The liner notes of the album state that all the tracks are copyrighted to Anthems for Insubordinates, while the mailing address states the band's name as Asking for It. It is the last album to feature bassist Geoff Kresge, who illustrated the album cover as well. The album features future band member Jade Puget performing back-up vocals. It was recorded in about a week. The tracks "Two of a Kind" and "Yürf Rendenmein" were re-recorded from their debut album ''Answer That and Stay Fashionable''. The title of "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" is a reference to the song of the same name by Sammy Fain and Paul Francis Webster, although it is not a cover. ''Answer That and Stay Fashionable'' is the debut studio album by American punk rock band AFI. It was originally released on July 4, 1995, through Wingnut Records and rereleased on April 22, 1997, through Nitro Records. Background ''Answer That and Stay Fashionable'' was recorded in Hayward, California, at Art of Ears, the studio of Andy Ernst, in 1995. The album was produced by AFI, along with Doug Sangalang, Tim Armstrong and Brett Reed. It was recorded in under a week. All of the tracks except "Open Your Eyes" are copyrighted to Anthems for Insubordinates. The album originally included a hidden track, a cover of The Police's "Man in a Suitcase", which is absent on the rerelease. Adam Carson
Adam Alexander Carson (born February 5, 1975) is the drummer of the alternative rock band AFI (band), AFI. He and Davey Havok are the two original members left in the lineup. Carson also filled in as drummer for the psychobilly band Tiger Army. His drumming can be found on Tiger Army's ''Early Years EP'' as well as their debut album ''Tiger Army (album), Tiger Army''. Carson was also a member of Influence 13 – a band formed by Nick 13, Jade Puget (who joined AFI in 1998), Geoff Kresge (who left AFI in 1996), and two other friends. David Paden Marchand (born David Paden Passaro, November 20, 1975), known professionally as Davey Havok, is an American singer and musician who is the lead vocalist of the rock band AFI, the synth-pop band Blaqk Audio, the hardcore punk band XTRMST, and the new wave band Dreamcar.
