Behind The Curtain (film)
''Behind the Curtain'' is a 1924 American silent mystery crime film directed by Chester M. Franklin and starring Lucille Ricksen, John Harron and Winifred Bryson. It was produced and distributed by Universal Pictures. It was based on a story by William J. Flynn, a former Director of the Bureau of Investigation.Soister, Nicolella & Joyce p.28 Synopsis Hugh, the son of wealthy George Belmont, elopes with the sister of his father's mistress Laura. The furious George breaks off with Laura, believing she orchestrated the whole thing, and tries to buy off his new daughter-in-law Sylvia. When George is then found murdered, Laura is a natural suspect although Professor Gregorius, a fake spiritualist, is also in the frame. Chester is a cathedral city and the county town of Cheshire, England. It is located on the River Dee, close to the English–Welsh border. Pat Harmon
Plummer Hull Harman (February 3, 1886 – November 26, 1958), known professionally as Pat Harmon, was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 130 films between 1920 and 1947. In 1935, Harmon was the victim of a violent assault which resulted in serious facial injuries, and on August 29, 1935, he was sentenced to serve two-to-10 years in Folsom Prison after being found guilty of stealing a horse. After the incidents involved, Harmon's film career ended as he never appeared on screen again. He was born in Lewistown, Illinois and died in Riverside, California. Clarence Geldart (June 9, 1867 – May 13, 1935) was an American film actor. He appeared in 127 films between 1915 and 1936. He was sometimes credited as C.H. Geldart or Charles H. Geldart. He was born in New Brunswick, Canada, and died in Calabasas, California. Geldart's Broadway credits include ''King Henry V'' (1900) and ''Beaucaire'' (1901).
