Begna or Begna bruk is a village in Sør-Aurdal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located in the Begnadalen valley, along the north shore of the river Begna, about to the southeast of the village of Bagn which is the municipal centre of Sør-Aurdal. The European route E16 highway runs along the southern shore of the river, accessible by a nearby bridge. The village lies about to the northwest of the municipal (and county) border. Ringerike Municipality lies on the other side of the border. Sawmill
A sawmill (saw mill, saw-mill) or lumber mill is a facility where logs are cut into lumber. Modern sawmills use a motorized saw to cut logs lengthwise to make long pieces, and crosswise to length depending on standard or custom sizes (dimensional lumber). Ringerike Municipality
Ringerike is a municipality in the traditional and electoral district Buskerud in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Ringerike. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Hønefoss. The municipality of Ringerike was created on 1 January 1964 after the merger of the town of Hønefoss and the rural municipalities of Hole, Norderhov, Tyristrand, and Ådal. Begna (river)
The Begna is a river in Viken and Innlandet counties in Norway. The long river runs from the Filefjell mountain area through Valdres to the town of Hønefoss where it joins the river Randselva before it empties into the Tyrifjorden. The river Begna drains a watershed of and this is the primary river in the watershed. Along its course, the river passes through the village of Begna in Sør-Aurdal Municipality. The Norwegian writer, Mikkjel Fønhus lived much of his life and located most of his novels along the river Begna. Begnadalen or Begndalen is a valley in Norway. The valley runs through Sør-Aurdal Municipality in Innlandet county and Ringerike Municipality in Viken county. The long valley follows the river Begna from Bagn to the lake Sperillen. The European route E16 passes through the valley. In the central part of the valley, the Church of Norway has a church which is called the Begnadalen Church. The main Begnadalen valley has several smaller side valleys that branch off of it.
