''Beginners'' is a 2010 American romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Mike Mills. It tells the story of a man reflecting on the life and death of his father, while trying to forge a new romantic relationship with a woman dealing with father-issues of her own. The film is based on the coming out of Mills' own father at the age of 75, five years before his death. After its premiere at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, the ''Los Angeles Times'' heralded ''Beginners'' as a "heady, heartfelt film" with a cast who have "a strong sense of responsibility to their real-world counterparts". Christopher Plummer received numerous accolades for his performance in the film, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Beginner (formerly Absolute Beginner) is a German rap group from Hamburg, consisting of Jan Delay (aka Eizi Eiz/Eißfeldt), Denyo and DJ Mad. Their fourth album, ''Advanced Chemistry'', was released in August 2016. Band history The group was founded as Absolute Beginner in 1991, initially with six members: Jan Delay, Denyo, Mardin, DJ Burn, Nabil, Mirko, but the latter three dropped out after a few months. They started rapping in English and German with homemade beats, but later chose to rap solely in German. During their first public appearance they met DJ Mad, who immediately joined the group. In 1993 they released their first track, "K.E.I.N.E." on the sampler ''Kill the Nation With a Groove''. The same year they released their first EP, ''Gotting'', and embarked on their first tour. "Beginner" is Japanese idol girl group AKB48's 18th single, released on October 27, 2010. Release Information Much like AKB48's previous singles such as "Heavy Rotation", "Beginner" was released in three different versions with five cover variations, with the theater version being exclusively sold in the AKB48 theater in Akihabara, Tokyo. Each version contained a different set list aside from the title track and "Boku Dake no Value". The third track on type A, "Kimi ni Tsuite" performed by Mint, was selected via a fan vote held on Ameba Pigg. In addition, the DVDs attached to all versions except for the theater version each contains three out of the possible six different music videos made for the single: Type A contained formations led by Yuko Oshima, Mariko Shinoda, and the duo of Mayu Watanabe and Jurina Matsui (SKE48), while type B featured formations led by Atsuko Maeda, Tomomi Itano, and Minami Takahashi. ''Beginner'' () is the seventh album by Chinese singer-songwriter Joker Xue. It was released on July 18, 2016, by Ocean Butterflies and later acquired by Xue's own label Chaoshi Music. Background The album was released in CD and LP formats. Of the ten tracks on the album, Xue composed music for seven and wrote lyrics for eight tracks. He also served as one of the album producers. The album includes the six songs from the ''Gentleman'' and ''Half'', both were well-received. "Beginner" symbolizes Xue's determination to return to music after detouring to hotpot restaurant, streetwear store, and variety show star in order to fund his music. Written and composed by Xue, It incorporates strong rock and high drama elements that work well with lyrical imagery to steadily build the song up. Xue also wrote and composed "Just Right" with a catchy chorus and heartrending lyrics: "This is the just right spot to end our journey, before we could reach the ends of the earth together."
