Derwin Schlecker (born Derwin Dicker, 1980), professionally known as Gold Panda, is an English electronic record producer and songwriter. Early life Derwin Schlecker was born as Derwin Dicker in 1980 in Peckham, London and was raised in Chelmsford, Essex. He lived in Japan and studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. Career Gold Panda released several small-issue 7" records and singles in 2009, and in 2010 he signed with Ghostly International to release his debut full-length '' Lucky Shiner''. In 2013, Gold Panda released his second album, '' Half of Where You Live''. On 27 May 2016, Gold Panda's third album, ''Good Luck and Do Your Best'', was released via City Slang. Gold Panda released a new single on 16 October 2020 titled ''Most Books That I've Never Read''. Derwin Dicker also performs house music as DJ Jenifa. It was released on 7 September 2010 through Ghostly International in the United States, while Notown Records released it on 12 October 2010 in the United Kingdom. Production Gold Panda recorded ''Lucky Shiner'' in two weeks over Christmas at his aunt and uncle's house in the Essex countryside. The album is named after his grandmother. Shante Scott Franklin (born April 4, 1981), better known by his stage name Currensy (often stylized as Curren$y), is an American rapper. In 2011, he founded the label Jet Life Recordings. Music career 2002–2008: No Limit and Young Money In 2002, Currensy was signed to Master P's No Limit Records and was a late addition to the 504 Boyz. The song "Get Back" by 504 Boyz, produced by Donald XL Robertson, was featured on the 2003 film ''Malibu's Most Wanted'' soundtrack. Currensy appeared on 5 songs in Master P's '' Good Side, Bad Side'' album. Even though he was signed with No Limit, he represented C-Murder's TRU label.
