Beddau RFC
Beddau Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the village of Beddau, South Wales. The present club was formed in 1951-52, but it can trace its roots to around 1900. Beddau RFC is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for Cardiff Blues. History Beddau had a village rugby team from around 1900 until the Second World War. During the war all the club's records were destroyed apart from a few remaining photographs of Beddau RFC teams from the late 1930s. Beddau RFC was reformed in 1951-52 and has since been based in Castellau Road, Beddau. The club plays at Mount Pleasant Park, Beddau. Today Today, Beddau RFC plays in the WRU Championship. In the 2006-07 season, Beddau RFC won the Division One East League, but were denied promotion to the Premier League as their grounds were deemed not to meet WRU criteria. Beddau ( en, Graves cy, Y Beddau) is a large former mining village (and electoral ward) situated within the South Wales Valleys Davies (2008), page 507. around from Llantrisant and from the larger town of Pontypridd in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. Governance Beddau was also the name of a county borough electoral ward within the Llantrisant community, bordered to the east by the Tyn-y-nant ward, which included Tynant. Bradley Davies
Bradley Davies (born 9 January 1987) is a Welsh international rugby union player for the Ospreys in the Pro14. His is the son of the former lock for Pontypridd; Bleddyn Davies. Career Bradley's first position as a youngster was outside half where he played for Pontyclun juniors, at the age of 14 he then found his natural position at lock. Davies went on from there to play for Beddau youth and was a member of the Cardiff Blues academy before signing a professional contract with the Blues at 18. International Davies played for all age group levels for Wales and was captain of the under 20s squad when they won the Grand Slam in 2005. Gethin Jenkins
Gethin Jenkins (born 17 November 1980) is a Welsh former rugby union player. He won 129 international caps for Wales and five for the British & Irish Lions. Jenkins was the record cap holder for Wales until he was overtaken by Alun Wyn Jones on 29 September 2019. He is the sixth most-capped player in rugby union history and the most capped front row forward. Gemma Hallett (born 24 August 1981) is a Welsh rugby union retired professional player who has played second row and number 8, earning 35 caps for Wales. Michael Owen (born 7 November 1980 in Pontypridd), is a former Welsh international rugby union player, who most often played Number 8, but was also versatile enough to play flanker or even lock. Gareth Wyatt (born 4 March 1977 in Pontypridd) is a Welsh rugby union player who has won two caps for the Wales national rugby union team. Andrew Edwin Horace Lamerton (born 28 May 1970) is a Welsh former rugby union international. Born in Church Village, Lamerton attended Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School, which also produced his future Wales teammate Neil Jenkins. He played his early rugby with Beddau RFC. A hooker, Lamerton was playing with Llanelli at the time of his first Wales call up and made his debut against France at Parc des Princes in the 1993 Five Nations Championship. He was capped a further three times on the 1993 tour of Zimbabwe and Namibia, then later that year played in a home Test against Japan.
