"Bed Peace" is a song by American recording artist Jhené Aiko, taken from her debut extended Play, EP, ''Sail Out'' (2013). The song was first premiered in July 2013 during a performance for Rap-Up Sessions, "Bed Peace" was later released as the EP's lead single on September 17, 2013, through ARTium record and Def Jam Recordings. The song was Record production, produced by frequent collaborator Fisticuffs and features a guest appearance from American rapper Childish Gambino, who co-wrote the song along with Aiko. Bed Peace is a mid tempo minimalist R&B song, with lyrics revolving around smoking marijuana and having sex, as she describes her ideal day. Upon its release, Bed Peace was met with generally positive reviews from music critics; whom praised Aiko's vocals and compared the song to the work of Aaliyah and Ciara. Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo (; born March 16, 1988) is an American singer who embarked on her music career contributing vocals and appearing in several music videos for R&B group B2K. In an effort to promote Aiko and cultivate a following for her, she was marketed as B2K member Lil' Fizz's cousin; she is not actually related to him. In 2003, Aiko was set to release her debut album, ''My Name Is Jhené'', through her labels Sony, The Ultimate Group and Epic; however, the album was never released, and Aiko asked to be released from the label in order to continue her education. In March 2011, Aiko made her return to music with the release of her first full-length project, a mixtape titled ''Sailing Soul(s)''. The Bed-ins for Peace were two week-long nonviolent protests against wars, intended as experimental tests of new ways to promote peace. As the Vietnam War raged in 1969, John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono held one protest at the Hilton Amsterdam, Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam and one at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal. ''Sailing Soul(s)'' is the debut mixtape by American singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko; it was released on March 16, 2011 & re-released for streaming platforms on March 12, 2021. Aiko began working on the mixtape after she gave birth to her daughter. Aiko wrote all the mixtape's songs except "July," which was written by Micah Powell.
