Yanga Chief
Yanga Ntshakaza (born October 17, 1987), professionally known as Yanga Chief (or mononymously as Yanga) is a South African rapper and singer-songwriter. Born in Mthatha and raised in Queenstown, Yanga studied film studies at University of Johannesburg. Career In late 2000s, Yanga was a videographer for Buttabing Entertainment. In 2016, he co-written Kwesta's song featuring Thabsie "Ngyaz’fela Ngawe" released in February 26, 2016. Yanga wrote and provided vocals for AKA’s song "Jika" released in 2018. In October 2018, his single "Utatakho" was released. The song peak number one on Metro FM Top 40 charts and was certified gold in South Africa selling over 10 000 units. "Utatakho" won Song of the Year at the South African Hip Hop Awards 2019. Yanga made "Utatakho"(remix) the song features the late South African rapper Ricky Rick,Dee Koala and Boity. Kiernan Jarryd Forbes (born 28 January 1988), known professionally as AKA, is a South African rapper. Born and raised in Cape Town, Forbes gained significance after releasing his single "Victory Lap" which was released from his debut studio album, ''Altar Ego'' (2011). Forbes continued his success by releasing studio albums which include '' Levels'' (2014), ''Touch My Blood'' (2018), Bhovamania (2020) and the collaborative album, '' Be Careful What You Wish For'' alongside Anatii (2017). In April 2020 Forbes alongside vodka brand ''Cruz'' launched the watermelon-flavoured drink with his initial on the bottles. The South African Hip Hop Awards (commonly abbreviated as SAHHA) are an annual hip hop award ceremony, that celebrates achievements within the South African hip hop culture, established in 2012. The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live on SABC. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by artists, and some of the awards of more popular interest are presented in a televised ceremony. History The South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA) had their origin in 2012.
