''Becks'' is a 2017 American musical drama film directed by Daniel Powell (in his feature directorial debut) and Elizabeth Rohrbaugh, and co-written with Rebecca Drysdale. It stars Lena Hall, Mena Suvari, and Hayley Kiyoko. The film centers on a lesbian musician named Becks who moves back to her childhood home in St. Louis after a failed relationship. ''Becks'' premiered at the 2017 Los Angeles Film Festival and won Best Film in the U.S. Fiction category. Plot Becks (Hall) is a backup musician for her singer girlfriend, Lucy (Kiyoko), living in New York City. Becks is a small settlement in the Otago Region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is located on State Highway 85, some north-east of Omakau, and just west of where the State Highway crosses the Manuherikia River. It lies on the 45th parallel south. Beck's Brewery, also known as Brauerei Beck & Co., is a brewery in the northern German city of Bremen. In 2001, Interbrew bought Brauerei Beck for 1.8 billion euros; at that time it was the fourth largest brewer in Germany.
