Beck's Beer
Beck's Brewery, also known as Brauerei Beck & Co., is a List of brewing companies in Germany, brewery in the northern German city of Bremen. In 2001, Interbrew bought Brauerei Beck for 1.8 billion euros; at that time it was the fourth largest brewer in Germany. US manufacture of Beck's has been based in St. Louis, Missouri, since early 2012. Since 2008, it has been owned by the Interbrew subsidiary Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV. Beck's logo with a key is based upon the city of Bremen's coat of arms, which contains a key attributed to the patron saint of the city, Saint Peter. For many years German beer was brewed in adherence to the ''Reinheitsgebot'' order or law which only permitted water, hops, yeast and malt as beer ingredients. Since 1993, the production of beer has been governed by the Provisional German Beer Law which allows a greater range of ingredients (only in top-fermenting beers) and additives that have to be completely, or at least as much as possible, removed from the final product. Weserstadion () is a multi-purpose stadium in Bremen, Germany. The Weserstadion is scenically situated on the north bank of the Weser River and is surrounded by lush green parks (the name 'Werder' is a regional German word for "river peninsula"). The city center is only about a kilometre away. It is the home stadium of German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. Artists that have performed at the stadium include Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Depeche Mode, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Guns N' Roses and Van Halen, among others. The stadium originally included an athletics track, but that was partially removed in 2002 when the pitch was sunk by and the stands at the straights were lengthened to the new pitch.
