Because I Love You (album)
''Because I Love You'' () is the first and only studio album by South Korean singer and songwriter Yoo Jae-ha, released on August 20, 1987, by Seoul Records, three months before the singer's sudden passing. Considered one of the best South Korean pop albums of all time and the first one where a singer wrote, composed, and arranged the songs all by himself, it influenced the music of subsequent generations, starting the evolution of Korean ballads. Background Yoo Jae-ha decided to pursue a solo career in the winter of 1986, at the age of 24, and turned to Kim Hyun-sik's bassist Jo Won-ik for help, presenting him a detailed project of the entire album, with the lyrics, composition and instrumentation of each track already complete. The songs were recorded at Seoul Studio in Ichon-dong between December 1986 and March 1987, and Yoo personally paid for the recording studio and played all the instruments himself. Yoo Jae-ha
Yoo Jae-ha (; June 6, 1962 – November 1, 1987) was a South Korean singer and songwriter. His first and only album, ''Because I Love You'' () was released through Kakao M, Seoul Records in 1987. Yoo died in a car accident months later from the album release at age 25. Even though he died with only one album, Yoo Jae-ha's music has a great legacy in South Korea, and it is credited with exerting tremendous influence in Korean popular music. Biography Yoo was born in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province in South Korea. He attended Hanyang University, where he studied music composition and began playing the keyboard for Cho Yong-pil's band, The Great Birth in 1984. After graduating from college, he worked with Kim Hyun-sik for Kim's first album ''Spring Summer Fall Winter'', and in 1986 he wrote the song "Hidden Road" () from Kim's 3rd album, which contributed to the creation of Kim Hyun-sik's early alum.
