Beazley Medal
The Beazley Medals are two annual awards awarded by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (and previously the Curriculum Council of Australia). The award is the highest profile and most prestigious academic award for secondary students in Australia. From 2001 onwards, two medals have been awarded each year — one to the top TEE student (ACE from 2010 onward) and one to the top vocational education and training (VET) student. The medal was first awarded in 1984 and is named after former Federal Education Minister Kim Beazley Sr. In 2000, a new student award, the Excellence in Vocational Studies Award, was introduced for the student who demonstrated the best results in a secondary school vocational program. The award was renamed the Beazley Medal: VET in the following year to reflect its equal status. Miss Beazley (October 28, 2004 – May 17, 2014) was a Scottish Terrier which belonged to former U.S. President George W. Bush and former U.S. First Lady Laura Bush. Miss Beazley's father, a Scottish terrier named Clinton, was born on November 7, 2000. Clinton was the half-brother of the Bushes' first Scottish terrier, Barney. Miss Beazley's mother, Blackwatch Elizabeth, was bred by dog breeder Patricia Gilmore of Livingston, New Jersey. Gilmore would also breed Miss Beazley, a purebred Scottish terrier who was born in 2004. Miss Beazley was adopted as a birthday present from President Bush to First Lady Laura Bush. Risdon Archibald Beazley (1904–1979) was the founder of Risdon Beazley Ltd, a Marine salvage company that operated from 1926 to 1981 in Southampton, England. Early career Beazley formed his company in 1926, when he was 22 years old. Throughout the life of the companies their base remained at Clausentum Yard, Bitterne Manor, Southampton. Charles Raymond Beazley
Sir Charles Raymond Beazley (3 April 1868 – 1 February 1955) was a British historian. He was Professor of History at the University of Birmingham from 1909 to 1933. Born in Blackheath, he was the son of Rev. Joseph and Louisa Beazley. He was educated at St Paul's School, King's College London and Balliol College, Oxford. His academic career was as a Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, until his chair at Birmingham. Associated with a pro-German tendency within the British political and intellectual establishment in the inter-war years, Beazley was a regular contributor to the ''Anglo-German Review'', established in 1936. Napoleon Beazley
Napoleon Beazley (August 5, 1976 – May 28, 2002) was a convicted murderer executed by lethal injection by the State of Texas for the murder of 63-year-old businessman John Luttig in 1994. Beazley shot Luttig in the head twice in his garage on April 19, 1994, to steal his Mercedes Benz. Beazley also shot at Luttig's wife, but he missed. She survived the assault by playing dead. Beazley carried out the crime with two accomplices, Cedrick and Donald Coleman, who later testified against him. Both were sentenced to 40 years in prison. Beazley was 17 years of age at the time of the offense. The victim was the father of United States federal judge J. Michael Luttig.
