''Beautiful Creatures'' is a 2009 American young adult novel written by authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and the first book in the ''Caster Chronicles'' series. The book was published on December 1, 2009, by Little, Brown, and Company. In the UK, ''Beautiful Creatures'' is published by Penguin Books. On January 3, 2013, a new edition of the novel was published, featuring images from the movie on the cover. The book was written in 12 weeks, inspired by a dare (a bet with 7 kids the authors knew) and was never intended to be published. Beautiful Creatures (sometimes abbreviated as BC) are an American hard rock band formed in 1999 by guitarist DJ Ashba and singer Joe Lesté of Bang Tango. The group's current lineup is composed of Lesté (lead vocals), Alex Grossi (lead guitar), Anthony Focx (rhythm guitar), Kenny Kweens (bass) and Timmy Russell (drums). Previously the group featured Michael Thomas and Glen Sobel among others while founder DJ Ashba is currently the lead guitarist for Sixx:A.M. ''Beautiful Creatures'' is the debut studio album by American hard rock band Beautiful Creatures. It was produced by Sean Beavan at Bay 7 Studios in Valley Village, Los Angeles, California, and was released on August 16, 2001, through Warner Bros. Records. The album peaked at number 29 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers, while the single "Wasted" peaked at number 37 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks. Following the release of the album, Beautiful Creatures went on to promote the album, performing at Ozzfest 2001, from June 8—August 12, 2001, the Rolling Rock Tour as well performing in Japan.
