Beaumont Hannant (born c. 1970) is a British musician, producer and DJ from York, England. His work includes ambient techno, IDM, hip hop and indie rock. Hannant has received positive critical reviews, and he was named one of "The Faces of '94" by music magazine '' Select''. Biography Hannant became a hip-hop/ electro DJ in 1986, after witnessing the 1986 World Mixing Championships. During 1993–1994, he released several solo albums on General Production Recordings rooted in ambient techno. His music from this period has been described as eclectic, densely layered and textured. Hannant's album ''Texturology'' (1994) resulted in a top three independent album chart placing. Music from the album was used in a theatre presentation of the 17th-century play ''The Traitor''. ''Brainbloodvolume'' is the third and final album from English rock band Ned's Atomic Dustbin with their original line-up. It was released in the United States on 21 March 1995 but did not appear in the United Kingdom until July of that year. Music ''Brainbloodvolume'' finds the band "decisively stepping beyond" their usual style "to embrace a variety of styles and approaches," and is marked by "ultramodern production", electronics and sampling, all of which were introduced to a lesser extent on ''Are You Normal?'' "Basscadet" is a track released by British electronic music duo Autechre, featured on their second EP, titled ''Basscad,EP'', released by Warp Records on 25 April 1994 (also known as ''Basscadet Mixes''). The EP consists entirely of remixes of the namesake track, which originally appeared on ''Incunabula'', Autechre's 1993 debut album with Warp Records. It is the only Autechre single to be taken from an album. The EP was released as a collection of three 10-inch vinyl singles and peaked at number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. It peaked at number 16 on the UK Compilation Chart. Critical reception John Bush of AllMusic gave the album 4 stars out of 5, stating that it is "a bit more sonically experimental" than ''Artificial Intelligence''. Shed Seven are a alternative rock band, formed in York in 1990. One of the groups which contributed to the Britpop music scene of the 1990s, they continue to write, record and release music over thirty years later. They originally comprised singer Rick Witter, guitarist/keyboardist Joe Johnson, bassist Tom Gladwin and drummer Alan Leach. Johnson was later replaced by Paul Banks (musician, born 1973), Paul Banks, although a later lineup of the band included both Johnson and Banks. They belonged to the post-The Smiths, Smiths wave of British musicians such as The Sundays and Marion (band), Marion, with a sound relying heavily on complex guitar arpeggios often in a minor key, and wailing vocals.
