The Election Commission of Malaysia ( ms, Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia), abbreviated SPR or EC, is a commission set up for ensuring fair and equitable operations in undertaking the elections in Malaysia. Its establishment is mandated by executive order of the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. The agency falls under the purview of the Prime Minister's Department. History The Election Commission (EC) was formed on 4 September 1957, under Article 114 of the Constitution of Malaysia, which empowers it to conduct elections for the Dewan Rakyat and state legislative bodies. At its establishment, the EC only consisted of a chairman and two members – Datuk Dr Mustafa Albakri Hassan together with Lee Ewe Boon and Ditt Singh. Anifah Aman
Anifah bin Haji Aman @ Haniff Amman ( Jawi: عنيفه بن أمان @ حنيف أمان; born 16 November 1953) is a Malaysian politician. Presently he is the President of Love Sabah Party (PCS). He formerly had served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia from April 2009 to May 2018. Anifah is also the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Beaufort (1999-2004) and Kimanis (2004-2019) in Sabah. He was a former member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) which is part of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, until he quit to be an Independent politician in 2018. Personal life Anifah is married to Siti Rubiah Abdul Samad and has 3 sons. He is the younger half brother of former Chief Minister of Sabah, Musa Aman.
