Beatservice Records
Beatservice Records (established 10 October 1994 in Tromsø, Norway) is a Norwegian record label releasing electronic music. It was initiated by Vidar Hanssen who was DJing for a local student radio with the program ''The Beatservice Radio Show'' at the time. Beatservice Records have released music ranging from minimalistic ambient via house and experimental techno to drum and bass. The label was an important factor in the mid-to-late 1990s popularity of the Tromsø based electronic music scene, both in Norway and elsewhere. It has released music by artists such as Biosphere, Elektrofant, Aedena Cycle, Kolar Goi, Flunk, Ralph Myerz, Xploding Plastix, Teebee, Sternklang, Kim Hiorthøy, Howard Maple, Bjørn Torske and Frost. Teebee
Torgeir Byrknes, better known by his stage name Teebee, is a Norwegian DJ and producer of drum and bass. He also runs the record label Subtitles Recordings. Teebee began DJing in 1990 and released his first record in 1996. He won the Knowledge Magazine award for ''Best International Producer'' in 2001. Musicology Teebee's music is characterised by a strong dark and futuristic science fiction influence. TeeBee material could be classed as neurofunk or techstep, although possessing a deeper ambient and atmospheric quality than much of this subgenre. His early work in particular owes an acknowledged stylistic debt to Photek, and he was initially mostly associated with the Certificate 18 record label, alongside Photek, Klute and fellow Norwegian Polar. Frost (Norwegian Band)
Frost is a Norwegian electronic duo consisting of Aggie Peterson and Per Martinsen. The group formed in 1997 in Tromsø, Norway with original line-up composed of Aggie Peterson and DJ Rune Lindbæk. They released their debut album ''Bedsit Theories'' in 1998. History Frost started as a project of Aggie Peterson and DJ Rune Lindbæk. They released their debut album ''Bedsit Theories'' in 1998. The album was produced with the assistance of Torbjørn Brundtland (of the duo Röyksopp) among other people. The album did well in Norway and the single " Clouds Across the Moon" (a cover of the Rah Band song) was featured on MTV in the summer of 1998. The single "Endless Love" was released in 1999. The release contained remixes by Röyksopp and the duo Illumination/Chilluminati of which Per Martinsen was part. Howard Maple (musician)
Howard Albert Maple (July 20, 1903 – November 9, 1970) was an American professional athlete. He played for the Chicago Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) in 1930 and for the Washington Senators of Major League Baseball (MLB) in 1932. He was a college athlete at then-Oregon State Agricultural College. Biography Maple played college football and college baseball for the Oregon State Aggies (now the Oregon State Beavers). As a quarterback, he led the team to an overall 16–7–1 record for the seasons of 1926 through 1928, and was named a 1928 All-American. Maple is the university's only alumnus to play in both the NFL and MLB. He was inducted to the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1981, and the athletics hall of fame at Oregon State University in 1990.
