Beatriz Stix-Brunell
Beatriz Eugenia Stix-Brunell (born 1993) is an American ballet dancer. Her career started with Morphoses when she was 14. She joined the Royal Ballet in 2010, was promoted to first soloist in 2016, and retired in 2021. Early life Stix-Brunell was born in Miami and raised in New York City. Her father works in finance and her mother is an interior designer. She started ballet training at age seven at the School of American Ballet. She also attended Nightingale Bamford School. At age 12, she attended Paris Opera Ballet School. Her mother and brother relocated to Paris, while her father visited when possible. When Stix-Brunell first arrived, she didn’t speak French, but managed to learn it in three months. After a year in Paris, though she was graded first in her class, she returned to New York to train privately and continued to study at Nightingale-Bamford. Maria Kowroski
Maria Kowroski is an American ballet dancer. She is a principal dancer at the New York City Ballet. Early life Kowroski was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She started ballet at the age of five. In 1992, she entered the School of American Ballet in New York City. Career In 1994, at the age of 17, Kowroski entered the New York City Ballet as an apprentice, and became a member of the corps de ballet a year later. She was promoted to soloist in 1997 and principal dancer in 1999. ''The Winter's Tale'' is a ballet in three acts choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon to a commissioned score by Joby Talbot. ''After the Rain'' is a ballet choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon on New York City Ballet to music of Arvo Pärt, including ''Tabula Rasa (Pärt), Tabula Rasa'' (first movement, ''Ludus'') and ''Spiegel im Spiegel''. ''Jewels'' is a three-act ballet created for the New York City Ballet by co-founder and founding choreographer George Balanchine. Choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Royal Ballet production of Sergei Prokofiev's ''Romeo and Juliet'' premiered at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden on 9 February 1965. Background Kenneth MacMillan had previously choreographed the balcony scene for Lynn Seymour and Christopher Gable to dance in September 1964 for Canadian Television. This scene provided an essential part of the ballet's overall structure. Seymour stated that the balcony scene pas de deux only took three rehearsals to fully choreograph. Lauren Louise Cuthbertson (born 11 June 1984) is an English ballerina and a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in London. Early life and education Lauren Cuthbertson was born in Devon in 1984. She began studying dance at a local dance school run by Pamela De Waal (now the Buckingham Dance Studios in Paignton), becoming focused on classical ballet when she was offered a place on the Royal Ballet School's Junior Associate Programme.
