Beams is a psych-folk band formed in Toronto in 2012. The group have worked with noted producers John McEntire ( Tortoise, Broken Social Scene, Yo La Tengo) and Grammy winner Peter J. "Glory Box" is a song by English electronic band Portishead, released on 2 January 1995 as the third and final single from their debut album, '' Dummy'' (1994). It samples " Ike's Rap II" by Isaac Hayes. Critical reception James Masterton said in his weekly UK chart commentary that "Glory Box" "is definitely one of the more gloriously slinky indie records released in ages". ''Chart Attack'' was a Canadian online music publication. Formerly a monthly print magazine called ''Chart'', it was published from 1991 to 2009. While the web version appears to be available online, the domain is now used as a popular media outlet, similar to BuzzFeed, almost entirely excluding music. Content ceased to be updated from mid 2017 to 2019 when owner Channel Zero laid off the site's staff. "Running Up That Hill", titled "Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)" on some releases, is a song by the British singer and songwriter Kate Bush. It was released in the United Kingdom as the lead single from Bush's album ''Hounds of Love'' on 5 August 1985 by EMI Records. The lyrics imagine a scenario in which a man and a woman make "a deal with God" to exchange places. Bush wrote and produced "Running Up That Hill" using a Fairlight CMI synthesiser and a LinnDrum drum machine. Upon its original release, "Running Up That Hill" reached number three on the UK Singles Chart and number 30 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in the United States, and was Bush's first US Top 40 hit. ''No Depression'' is a quarterly roots music journal with a concurrent online publication. In print, ''No Depression'' is an ad-free publication focused on long-form music reporting and deep analysis that ties contemporary artists with the long chain of American roots music. In April 2020, ''No Depression'' introduced digital versions of their print journal. While the print journal remains ad-free, the digital versions include roots-music-related advertisements. John McEntire
John McEntire (born April 9, 1970 in Portland, Oregon) is an American recording engineer, producer, drummer and multi-instrumentalist, based in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of both Tortoise and the Sea and Cake. McEntire started playing drums at age 10. Throughout high school, he performed in marching bands and studied privately for seven years. He went on to attend Oberlin Conservatory initially as a percussion major, but eventually switched to study in the school's then newly created program for Technology in Music and Related Arts. Musical career McEntire is currently a member of Tortoise, The Sea and Cake, and The Red Krayola.
