Beamer (LaTeX)
Beamer is a LaTeX document class for creating presentation slides, with a wide range of templates and a set of features for making slideshow effects. It supports pdfLaTeX, LaTeX + dvips, LuaLaTeX and XeLaTeX. The name is taken from the German word "'' Beamer''" as a pseudo-anglicism for "video projector". Method The Beamer class is not the first LaTeX class for creating presentations, and like many of its predecessors (such as slides, seminar, prosper, powerdot), it has special syntax for defining "slides" (known in Beamer as "frames"). Slides can be built up on-screen in stages as if by revealing text that was previously hidden or covered. This is handled with PDF output by creating successive pages that preserve the layout but add new elements, so that advancing to the next page in the PDF file appears to add something to the displayed page, when in fact it has merely redrawn the page. Beamer Trail
The Beamer Trail is a backpacking trail located on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, located in the U.S. state of Arizona. Description The trail begins at the end of the Tanner Trail, at the confluence of Tanner Creek and the Colorado River. This confluence created the Unkar Creek Rapids. From here the trail follows the Colorado north (upstream) to its confluence with the Little Colorado River. The trail is considered primitive, and some route finding is required. To the east of the trail is the Palisades of the Desert, a two-thousand foot cliff that showcases the upper portion of the canyon's rock layers. Camping is not allowed within a ½ mile of the confluence of the Colorado River and the Little Colorado River. The compact is used to exchange data between motorist's home state and a state where the motorist incurred a vehicular violation. Not all states are members, and states respond to the data differently. Beamer (cricket)
In cricket, a beamer (less commonly beam ball) is a type of delivery in which the ball, without bouncing, passes above the batsman's waist height. This kind of delivery is dangerous, as a batter will be expecting the ball to bounce on the pitch. The failure to bounce makes it much harder to avoid the ball or to hit it with the bat. It is usually an accident caused by the ball slipping from the bowler's hands at delivery, but they have been bowled deliberately, an act highly contrary to the Laws of Cricket and the sportsmanship expected of the players. This type of delivery can result in injuries to the batsman, and the penalty is an immediate no-ball and, in Twenty20 and one-day matches, a free hit. The use of beamers is governed under Law 41.7. The bowler is then given a warning by the umpire for dangerous bowling.
