Beacon Hill (train)
The ''Beacon Hill'' was a daily commuter rail service operated by Amtrak between Boston, Massachusetts, and New Haven, Connecticut, from 1978 to 1981. The ''Beacon Hill'' was one of the last long-haul commuter services operated by Amtrak. Service consisted of a single rush-hour round trip, with service eastbound to Boston in the morning and westbound to New Haven in the evening. History Previous service By the time the New Haven Railroad folded into Penn Central in 1969, commuter service between New Haven and Providence had been reduced to a handful of daily trips. LRC (train)
The LRC (a bilingual acronym: in English: ''Light, Rapid, Comfortable''; in french: Léger, Rapide, et ) is a series of lightweight diesel-powered passenger trains that were used on short- to medium-distance inter-city service in the Canadian Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. LRC was designed to run with locomotives, or power cars, at both ends and provide service on non-upgraded railway routes. To accomplish this, the LRC Passenger car (rail), passenger cars feature tilting train, active-tilt technology to reduce the forces on the passengers when a train travels at high speeds through curves. East Greenwich, Rhode Island
East Greenwich is a town and the county seat of Kent County, Rhode Island. The population was 14,312 at the 2020 census. Wickford Junction is a commuter rail station located in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, United States. It is the southern terminus of the MBTA Commuter Rail Providence/Stoughton Line and serves as a park and ride location for commuters to Providence, Rhode Island, and Boston, Massachusetts. The station consists of a single high-level side platform on a stub-end siding next to the Northeast Corridor mainline. The first station at the site opened in 1844. Branford is a station along the CTrail Shore Line East commuter railroad between Stamford and New London, Connecticut. The station itself is located in Branford, Connecticut. Branford is also a station on the northern section Northeast Corridor. Amtrak does not stop at the station but Amtrak trains pass through it.
