Bazaar (1949 Film)
''Bazaar'' is an Indian Hindi language family-drama film of year 1949. The film is directed by K. Amarnath and produced under the banner Madhukar Pictures. The story was written by K. Amarnath, while the dialogue and lyrics were by Qamar Jalalabadi, with music by Shyam Sunder. Plot An impecunious poet, Parwana, runs away from home in company with his pal Jagu to join a theatrical company. On the way, they come across a gypsy camp and Jagu succeeds in picking up Koel, a gypsy dancer, as his sweetheart. Parwana and Jagu soon cross swords with Khanna of Khanna Theatres, whose main attraction is Bijli, a beautiful and temperamental dancer. Bijli is attracted by Parwana's poetry and physique and we soon see Parwana, Jagu and Koel working in Khanna Theatres. Parwana and Bijli begin to love each other and Khanna doesn't like the look of things, being himself in love with Bijli. Mohammed Rafi
Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent. Rafi was notable for his versatility and range of voice; his songs varied from fast peppy numbers to patriotic songs, sad numbers to highly romantic songs, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans to classical songs. He was known for his ability to mould his voice to the persona and style of the actor lip-syncing the song on screen in the movie. He received six Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. Cuckoo Moray, also credited as Cuckoo or Cukoo (1928 – 30 September 1981), was an Anglo-Indian dancer and actress in Indian cinema. Cuckoo was the queen of film dancing in Hindi cinema of the 1940s and 1950s. Though unfamiliar in name, she was known as the "rubber girl" of Hindi cinema and her talent made cabaret dancing a must in the Bollywood films during the 1940s and 1950s. Sunder Shyam Chadda (20 February 1920 – 25 April 1951) was an Indian actor in Hindi cinema. He began his career in 1942 and worked in over 30 films until his death in 1951 at the age of 31.
