Baywood is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 7,350 at the 2010 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 7,571 people, 2,252 households, and 1,880 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 3,371.0 per square mile (1,299.2/km2). There were 2,317 housing units at an average density of 1,031.6/sq mi (397.6/km2).
