Baykurut is located in the central to eastern part of the county. It has 2 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. Its seat is at ''Baykurut Village'' (). Baykurut is located away northeast of the county seat Wuqia Town and south of Turugart Port (). It is adjacent to Terak Township in the east, Artux City and Wuqia Town in the south, Toyun Township in the north. Wuqia County
Ulugqat County (also known as Ulughchat County and Wuqia County; ) is a county in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. It is under the administration of the Kyrgyz autonomous prefecture of Kizilsu. The county has two towns, nine townships and one state-owned farm, eight communities and 34 villages under its jurisdiction in 2017, its county seat is Wuqia Town. It contains an area of and has a population of 56,633 (as of 2017) with main ethnic groups of Kyrgyz, Han and Uyghur peoples. Wuqia County is one of the two westernmost counties in China. Toyun Township () is a township of Wuqia County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Located in the northeast of the county, the township covers an area of l,546 square kilometers with a population of 2,651 (as of 2017). It has 3 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. Torugart Pass
Torugart Pass (; ; ) is a mountain pass in the Tian Shan mountain range near the border between the Naryn Region of Kyrgyzstan and the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China. It is one of two border crossings between Kyrgyzstan and China, the other being Erkeshtam, some 165 km (103 mi) to the southwest. The scenic lake Chatyr-Köl lies near the pass on the Kyrgyz side. The road to Naryn and then to Balykchy and Bishkek—stretching for some —is narrow and in winter often impassable due to heavy snowfall and frequent avalanches. On the Chinese side, the Torugart Port of Entry (吐尔尕特口岸), where travelers must clear for customs, is located about from the pass itself in Ulugqat County of the Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture. The Cultural Revolution, formally known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, was a sociopolitical movement in the People's Republic of China (PRC) launched by Mao Zedong in 1966, and lasting until his death in 1976.
