Bay Village, Ohio
Bay Village is a city in western Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. Located along the southern shore of Lake Erie, the city is a western suburb of Cleveland and a part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The population was 16,163 at the 2020 census. History Before the first European-Americans arrived in the area around 1600, Erie Indians lived in Bay Village and the surrounding areas. The most important Indian trail in Ohio is present-day Lake Road, which is a main road in Bay Village. In that same century, what is now Bay Village, along with Avon Lake, Avon, and Westlake, was part of one territory. This territory was later called by the whites in a native language, "Xeuma", a term roughly meaning "those who came before us". David Michael Zastudil (born October 26, 1978) is a former American football Punter (football), punter. He played college football at Ohio Bobcats football, Ohio, and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Kate Elizabeth Voegele (; born December 8, 1986) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She made her musical debut in 2003, with the release of her ''The Other Side'' extended play. She performed numerous local live shows to promote the album, and toured with artists such as John Mayer. In 2005, she released her second extended play, ''Louder Than Words''. Joseph Charles Schriner (born March 3, 1955) is an American political activist and journalist. Schriner has run for the United States presidency in six consecutive election cycles spanning from 2000 to 2020. Advocating Christian democratic policies, he has primarily run as an independent candidate, until the 2020 presidential election when he sought the American Solidarity Party nomination instead. Schriner's political views largely revolve around Catholic Social Teaching. He also ran as a Republican during the early portions of the 2000 and 2016 presidential election cycles. David Nemec
David Nemec (born December 10, 1938) is an American baseball historian, novelist and playwright. Early life and education Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Nemec spent most of his adolescence in Bay Village, Ohio. In his senior year of high school he was named the first winner of the prestigious Ed Bang scholarship, created to honor the "Dean of American Sports Writers." Nemec subsequently played outfield and first base for Ohio State University while earning a BA in English (graduating in 1960). After serving in the army, he taught and coached in Cleveland public schools while working on a novel about the Sam Sheppard murder case, which occurred in his hometown of Bay Village. Sheppard had been Nemec's family physician prior to his 1954 conviction for his wife's slaying, which was later overturned. Robert Brian Gibbs (born June 14, 1954) is an American farmer and politician who served as the U.S. representative for from 2011 to 2023. He is a member of the Republican Party.
