Bavathi
''Bavathi'' is a 2019 Maldivian psychological thriller film directed by Ilyas Waheed. Produced by Asim Ali, Ilyas Waheed and Ahmed Waheed under IFilms, the film stars Nuzuhath Shuaib and Ahmed Ifnaz Firag in pivotal roles. Plot Ibrahim aka Ibu ( Ahmed Ifnaz Firag), a fitness trainer visits an island for a training workshop where he meets an introvert, Shehenaz aka Shehe (Nuzuhath Shuaib) who is regarded as a prideful and slightly insane woman on the island. Shehenaz accuses her mother, Zulfa ( Fathimath Latheefa) is having an affair with Shakir (Mohamed Rasheed), disrespecting her handicapped husband, Manik (Ibrahim Fairooz Adam). Ilyas Waheed
Ilyas Waheed is a Maldivian film director, producer, screenwriter and editor Early life Inspired by his father's patriotism, Waheed inclined to pursue a career as an army officer. However, while studying in grade three, he was bedridden for three months due to a leg fracture, which led him to watch numerous movies, and ultimately changing his passion from military defense to film making and visual arts. After completing his GCE Ordinary Level education from Majeediyya School, Waheed joined Maldives National Defence Force to complete his bond term. Fathimath Latheefa is a Maldivian film actress. Career Prior to acting, Latheefa appeared in advertisements and small roles in few television drama series distributed by VTV. In 2019, she made her film debut in Ilyas Waheed's psychological thriller film ''Bavathi'' (2019), where she played the role of Zulfa, the mother hated by her daughter being accused of disrespecting her disabled husband by having an affair with another man. Ahmed Ifnaz Firag (born 12 January 1985) is a Maldivian film actor, director, singer, television host, fitness instructor and photographer. Early life After completing his primary education in Jamaluddin school, Firag enrolled in Majeediyya School for his secondary education. During that time, he considered himself as an "introvert" who was too shy to showcase his acting skills, which made him firmly believe that acting would remain his "unfulfilled dream". Nuzuhath Shuaib (born 14 September 1988) is a Maldivian film actress. Early life Nuzuhath Shuaib was born on 14 September 1988 in N. Manadhoo. She was working at Jelly Pizza when her friend, a film actor Ali Azim introduced her to the team of ''Malikaa''. Impressed with the brief meeting, she was roped in to play the title character in the film. Career Nuzuhath Shuaib made her film debut with Ali Musthafa-directed family drama ''Malikaa'' playing the titular role, Malikaa, a sidelined daughter who has been underappreciated for her doings while she manages to execute the whole responsibilities of the family. Ibrahim Wisan
Ibrahim Wisan (born 27 February 1977), nicknamed as Kandi is a Maldivian cinematographer, actor and director. Career In 1996, Wisan starred in Mohamed Rasheed's '' Hifehettumeh Neiy Karuna'' opposite Niuma Mohamed, Abdul Raheem and Arifa Ibrahim. He again collaborated with Arifa Ibrahim for her drama film '' Dhauvaa'', an unofficial remake of Deepak Sareen's Bollywood film '' Aaina'' (1993), where he reprised the role played by Deepak Tijori in the original. Mohamed Rasheed (2 April 1964), professionally known as Dharaa Rasheed, is a Maldivian film actor, cinematographer, producer and director. Early life At the age of twelve, Rasheed along with his friends, Sodhiq and Kashima Ahmed Shakir, used to spend most of their times at his place, singing, playing table tennis and undertake Urdu classes. Kaashidhoo (Dhivehi: ކާށިދޫ) is one of the inhabited islands of Kaafu Atoll. History Kashidhoo archaeological site is one of the most historically significant on the island.
