Bavar 373
Bavar-373 ( fa, باور-۳۷۳, meaning ''Belief'' and ''373'' being Abjad for ''یا رسول‌الله'' or ''O, Messenger of Allah!'') is an Iranian long-range road-mobile surface-to-air missile system unveiled in August 2016. Iran describes it as a competitor with the S-300 missile system. It is manufactured by the Iranian Defence Ministry in cooperation with unspecified local manufacturers and universities. The system was formally unveiled during a ceremony attended by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on 22 August 2019, and was declared operational the same day. An upgraded version was unveiled in 2022. Iran described it as a competitor with the S-400 and said it is capable of shooting down Fifth-generation fighter aircraft. History After the Russian ban on exporting S-300 to Iran (which was lifted in 2015), Iran decided to develop a similar system domestically: "We have planned to build a long-range air defence missile system similar to S-300. By God's grace and by t ...

Bavar 2
The HESA Bavar 2 ( fa, باور ٢) is a ground effect vehicle unveiled in September 2010 by the IRGC Navy. It is designed to have a small radar signature, and therefore be difficult to track on radar, to be able to remain undetected while carrying out patrol missions. The vehicle can be equipped with different kinds of weapons including locally produced rockets and missiles. The design is based on the work of Alexander Lippisch and is similar in concept to the 1970s experimental RFB X-113. Analysis Because they ride on a cushion of air generated between their wings and the water's surface and don't actually fly, as such, surface-effect vehicles (SEVs) are able to sustain payloads approximately three times the weight of those carried by equivalent-sized airplanes. This fact - taken together with their small size, quick acceleration, high speed, close proximity to the water and ability to blend-in with small, stationary boats on radar while loitering - makes small SEVs like the Ba ...

Emily Bavar
Emily Bavar (1915 - July 28, 2003), later Emily Bavar Kelly, was an American reporter for ''The Sentinel Star'', the newspaper which later became ''The Orlando Sentinel''. She is best known for her story which speculated that Walt Disney was behind the secret purchase of large parcels of land in central Florida, which became Walt Disney World. In 1965, Disneyland planned a year-long celebration of its ten-year anniversary, nicknamed the " Tencennial". Reporters from across America were flown to Anaheim and entertained by Disney, in exchange for their coverage of the celebration. The Southeast was not a focus area for this project, however due to the sizable circulation of ''The Sentinel Star'', a reporter was invited to attend the celebration. That reporter was Emily Bavar, editor of the paper's ''Sunday Florida'' magazine. Her instructions from her boss were to ask Walt Disney if there was truth to the rumors that he was behind the land purchase in central Florida. Bavar first po ...
