Baumwall Station
Baumwall () is an elevated metro station located at Baumwall embankment in Hamburg's inner-city. It was opened in 1912 and is served by Hamburg U-Bahn line U3. It was renamed Baumwall (Elbphilharmonie) on 2 December 2016. Location Baumwall ("tree ridge") is the name of an embankment on the Hamburg Harbour front. The station is located at the exposed headland of Fleet Island, between Herrengrabenfleet, Alsterfleet and Binnenhafen. Administratively, Baumwall belongs to Neustadt; bridges across Alsterfleet and Binnenhafen connect it with the districts Altstadt and HafenCity respectively. Historically, Baumwall was site of a water barrier and part of the Hamburg Wallanlagen. The station has significance for both commuters and visitors. Hamburg Wallanlagen
The Wallring () is a semi-circular urban ensemble encircling the inner city of Hamburg. It consists of a four-lane ring road with a total length of and a continuous built-up street front on its inner side. The outer perimeter is – for the largest part – made up by a string of parks. The Wallring follows the outline of Hamburg's old city wall, and was developed in the first half of the 19th century, when the defensive wall, the (Wallanlagen), was razed. The wall that defined the city's edge from the 1620s until the 1840s has had a strong impact on shaping the modern city. The Wallring park consists of several differently named sections, which — based on their common historical development — are characterized by a certain unity, but also by a number of dissimilarities. Speicherstadt
The Speicherstadt (, literally: 'City of Warehouses', meaning warehouse district) in Hamburg, Germany is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations, oak logs, in this particular case. It is located in the port of Hamburg—within the HafenCity quarter—and was built from 1883 to 1927. The district was built as a free zone to transfer goods without paying customs. The district and the surrounding area have been under redevelopment for many years as the port industry has evolved. Elbe Philharmonic Hall
The Elbphilharmonie (; "Elbe Philharmonic Hall"), popularly nicknamed Elphi, is a concert hall in the HafenCity quarter of Hamburg, Germany, on the Grasbrook peninsula of the Elbe River. It is among the largest in the world. The new glassy construction resembles a hoisted sail, water wave, iceberg or quartz crystal resting on top of an old brick warehouse (Kaispeicher A, built in 1963) near the historical Speicherstadt. Hanseatic Trade Center
The Hanseatic Trade Center (HTC) is a major office complex in the HafenCity of Hamburg, Germany. Developed after an urban design competition in the 1980s, and built in five phases during the 1990s, it was the first new construction in the urban renewal of this part of the Port of Hamburg. Parts of the Hanseatic Trade Center along Kehrwiederfleet complement the historic Speicherstadt, while its western end at Kehrwiederspitze features two high-rise structures.
