Walter Emerson Baum
Walter Emerson Baum (December 14, 1884 – July 12, 1956) was an American artist and educator active in the Bucks and Lehigh County areas of Pennsylvania in the United States. In addition to being a prolific painter, Baum was also responsible for the founding of the Baum School of Art and the Allentown Art Museum. Biography Early life and training Walter Emerson Baum was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania and is one of the few Pennsylvania impressionist artists from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He studied with William B. T. Trego from 1904–1909, taking lessons at Trego's home in North Wales, Pennsylvania, about 15 miles south of his native Sellersville. Frank Joslyn Baum
Frank Joslyn Baum (December 3, 1883 – December 2, 1958) was an American lawyer, soldier, writer, and film producer, and the first president of The International Wizard of Oz Club. He is best known as the author of ''To Please a Child'' (a biography of his father, L. Frank Baum) (1962) and ''The Laughing Dragon of Oz'' (1936). He was involved in the production of '' Wizard of Oz'' (1925), and '' The Wizard of Oz'' (1933), for which he also received writing credit, after which he sold ''The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'' film rights to Samuel Goldwyn. William Wakefield Baum
William Wakefield Baum (November 21, 1926 – July 23, 2015) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau in Missouri (1970–1973) and archbishop of the Archdiocese of Washington D.C (1973–1980) before serving in the Roman Curia as prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education (1980–1990) and major penitentiary (1990–2001). Baum was elevated to the College of Cardinals in 1976. At the time of his 1980 appointment as prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education, he was the highest-ranking American ever in the church. Baum was a cardinal longer than any other American. Gerhart Rudolf Baum (born 28 October 1932) is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and a lawyer. Early life and education Gerhart Baum was born to a German father and a Russian mother. His paternal ancestors, whose roots lay in Plauen in the Saxon Vogtland, originally worked as craftsmen before later generations were able to pursue academic professions. His mother was born in Moscow; her own mother was from Łódź and of Polish ethnicity and her Ukrainian-born father was originally from Kharkiv. Dale Baum (born 1943) is an American historian and long time professor at Texas A&M University. He researches the political history of the American Civil War and Reconstruction era, Texas history, and quantitative research of historiography. Baum has authored three books, ''The Civil War Party System'' (1984), ''The Shattering of Texas Unionism'' (1998), and ''Counterfeit Justice'' (2009).
