Scott Randall Baugh (born July 4, 1962) is an American attorney and politician. He is a member of the Republican Party. He served in the California State Assembly and served as the chair of the Republican Party in Orange County, California, from the early 2000s to 2015. Baugh attended Liberty University and McGeorge School of Law. After graduating, Baugh served as an attorney in private practice in Huntington Beach. Baugh entered politics after a recall was initiated in 1995 for the 67th district of the state assembly; he served as minority leader of the California Assembly. After leaving office, he became the chairman of the local Republican Party. Baugh was a twice unsuccessful Republican nominee for California's 47th congressional district in 2022 and 2024, losing to Democrats Katie Porter and Dave Min respectively. Sammy Baugh
Samuel Adrian Baugh (March 17, 1914 – December 17, 2008) was an American professional football quarterback who played 16 seasons with the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, where he was a two time All-American prior to being selected by the Redskins in the first round of the 1937 NFL draft. With the Redskins, Baugh won NFL Championships in 1937 and 1942 and led the NFL in completion percentage eight times, passing yards four times, and passing touchdowns once. Baugh also played as a punter and safety, leading the NFL in punting average five times and in defensive interceptions with 11 in 1943. After his playing career, he served as a college coach for the Hardin–Simmons Cowboys before coaching professionally for the New York Titans and Houston Oilers. Baugh has claimed to have discovered human footprints alongside non-avian dinosaur footprints near the Paluxy River in Texas. John Baugh
John Gordon Baugh V (born December 10, 1949) is an American academic and linguist. His main areas of study are sociolinguistics, forensic linguistics, education, and African American language studies. He is currently the Barbara Jordan Distinguished Professor of Linguistics at Rice University, Professor Emeritus at Washington University in St. Louis, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University, and a former President of the Linguistic Society of America. In 2020 Baugh was elected as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in the section on Linguistics and Language Sciences, and in 2021 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Richard Baugh (14 February 1864 – 14 August 1929) was an English footballer who spent the majority of his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers, for whom he played in three FA Cup finals (one as captain). Dick Baugh was a teak–tough full–back, quick off the mark with a timely tackle who could kick long and true. Baugh attended St. Luke's School, Blakenhall and played for Rose Villa, Wolverhampton Rangers and then began his senior career with the Wolverhampton-based Stafford Road. Thomas Anthony Baugh (born December 1, 1963) is an American former professional football player who was a center for four seasons with two teams in the National Football League (NFL). A 1981 graduate of Riverside Brookfield High School, Baugh played college football for the Southern Illinois Salukis where he was a key member of the 1983 NCAA Division I-AA national football championship squad. Baugh played in the East-West Shrine Bowl and the Blue–Gray Football Classic following his senior year when he was captain of the 1985 Southern Illinois Salukis and a fourth round draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1986.
