Batwing (James "Jimmy" Santini) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history His first appearance was in ''Untold Tales of Spider-Man'' #2 (October 1995), and he was created by Kurt Busiek and Pat Olliffe. Batwing appeared as a supporting character in ''Avengers Academy'' beginning with issue #20 (Dec 2011), making occasional appearances throughout the series. Fictional character biography Young Jimmy Santini was with his father in an investigation of illegal toxic waste dumping in Carlsbad Caverns National Park where his father was either shot in the back by the polluters or fell to his death in the deep caverns (the full details were murky in Jimmy's diary). Jimmy was lost in the caverns and drank water that "tasted like metal." He was eventually rescued and returned to his mother. Soon the chemicals began to take effect and Jimmy sprouted wings. Pat Olliffe
Patrick Olliffe is an American comic book artist and penciller. His most notable clients include Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Disney Publishing, and Aftershock Comics. Career Olliffe is best known for his work for Marvel Comics on ''Untold Tales of Spider-Man'' (1995) and '' Spider-Girl'' (1998). He is also a published author and an illustrator of children's books and young adult books. Some of the published credits include Spider-Girl Volume 8: Duty Calls Digest (Spider-Girl), Spider-Man: Saga of the Sandman, JSA Classified: Honor Among Thieves, and Avengers: Galactic Storm, Vol. 2. Civil War (comics)
"Civil War" is a 2006–07 Marvel Comics crossover storyline consisting of a seven-issue limited series of the same name written by Mark Millar and penciled by Steve McNiven and various tie-in books. The storyline builds upon events in previous Marvel storylines, particularly " Avengers Disassembled", "House of M", and " Decimation". The series' tagline is "Whose Side Are You On?" The plot begins when the U.S. government passes a Superhero Registration Act, ostensibly to have super-powered individuals act under official regulation, somewhat akin to law enforcement. Superheroes who oppose the act, led by Captain America, find themselves in conflict with its supporters, led by Iron Man. Spider-Man is caught in the middle, while the X-Men take a neutral stance. The New Warriors is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They traditionally consisted of teenage and young adult heroes, and were often seen to serve as a junior counterpart to Avengers (comics), The Avengers in much the same way that the New Mutants/X-Force did with the X-Men. They made a cameo appearance in ''Thor (Marvel Comics), The Mighty Thor'' #411 (December 1989) and made their full debut in ''The Mighty Thor'' #412. Bengal (Duc No Tranh) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history The character first appeared in '' Daredevil'' #258 and was created by Fabian Nicieza and artist Ron Lim. Fictional character biography Duc No Tranh was a boy growing up in a Vietnamese village during the Vietnam War. During the war, American soldiers, including William Talltrees, Willie Lincoln, and the future Reverend Michael Janes, massacre his village and parents. The boy tries to climb aboard the Americans' helicopter, but is kicked off by Private Janes, despite the pleas of the other soldiers on board. Years later, the boy became the costumed Bengal and travels to America for revenge on the soldiers involved in the destruction of his village. Willie Lincoln seeks Daredevil's protection. Robbie Baldwin
Robert "Robbie" Baldwin is a fictional character, fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by artist Steve Ditko and writer Tom DeFalco, the character first appearance, first appeared in ''The Amazing Spider-Man Annual'' #22 (January 1988) originally known as Speedball, as well as in ''Civil War: Front Line'' #10 (January 2007) as Penance. The character's origin and early exploits as Speedball were depicted soon after in a solo series.
