Batumi City Assembly
The Batumi Municipal Assembly ( ka, ბათუმის საკრებულო, tr) is a representative body in the city of Batumi, Georgia. Currently consisting of 35 members; of these, 28 are proportional representatives and 7 are elected through single-member districts, representing their constituencies. During the 1990s, the city council did not function as a self-governing body and decisions in the city were made individually by authorities. At this period, the leader of the autonomous republic was Aslan Abashidze, whose authoritarian ruling ended after the Adjara’s Rose Revolution, on May 6, 2004. On October 5, 2006 the first local self-governmental election of the representative body took place. Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia ( ka, ქართული ოცნება – დემოკრატიული საქართველო, ''Kartuli ocneba – Demok’rat’iuli Sakartvelo'') is a social democratic political party in Georgia. The party was established on 19 April 2012 by the billionaire businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili. Nino Batsiashvili ( ka, ნინო ბაციაშვილი; born 1 January 1987) is a Georgian chess Grandmaster (chess), grandmaster and 4-time and the current Georgian Chess Championship, Georgian women's chess champion. In 2012, she won the Group E (women's section of the Russian State Social University, RSSU Student Grandmaster Cup) of the Moscow Open. In 2013 Batsiashvili won the 3rd Krystyna Hołuj-Radzikowska Memorial in Wrocław, Poland on tiebreak over Joanna Majdan-Gajewska. In 2015, she won the Women's Georgian Chess Championship and finished second in the Women's European Individual Chess Championship. The Christian-Democratic Movement ( ka, ქრისტიანულ-დემოკრატიული მოძრაობა, ''k’ristianul-demokratiuli modzraoba'', KDM) is a socially conservative Christian-democratic political party in Georgia, founded in February 2008 and led by Giorgi Targamadze, formerly an Imedi TV anchor who had once been a Member of the Parliament of Georgia and a close ally of Aslan Abashidze, then a regional leader of Adjara. Former Imedi TV journalists Magda Anikashvili and Giorgi Akhvlediani and former Imedi producer Levan Vepkhvadze, all of whom left the station in January 2008, and one of the leading figures in the party Nika Laliashvili also joined the party. The Way Of Georgia
The Way of Georgia (, ''Sak’art’velos gza'', also called The Georgian Way) was a political party in Georgia. It was registered on March 11, 2006. The party was led by former Foreign Minister and current President Salome Zourabichvili from its founding until 2010. The Way of Georgia was considered a liberal party. Although Zourabichvili enjoyed high personal popularity, her party has not been able to establish itself in the political field.
