Battle Strikers
Battle Strikers are magnetically controlled customizable spinning tops by MagNext Toys from Mega Brands. Gameplay Two players each use one assembled top. The top is placed in the bottom of the launcher. A button on the grip is pressed to spin the top, while another on top releases it. Each player additionally has a device that fits over two fingers which can be used to manipulate the tops through magnetism. The winner is the last player whose top is left spinning inside the arena. The system was later updated to use a ripcord launcher with the magnet inside an extension, simplifying the game somewhat. System Booster: The Booster is used to modify your Striker's behavior. Make it spin longer, or easier to control, or better balance. Core: The Core of the Striker contains the powerful magnet that is used to control the striker. Lock: The Lock holds the Striker together. Other tops * Beyblade * Battling Tops ''Battling Tops'' is a children's game invented by Eddy Goldfarb and f ...

Magnetism
Magnetism is the class of physical attributes that are mediated by a magnetic field, which refers to the capacity to induce attractive and repulsive phenomena in other entities. Electric currents and the magnetic moments of elementary particles give rise to a magnetic field, which acts on other currents and magnetic moments. Magnetism is one aspect of the combined phenomena of electromagnetism. The most familiar effects occur in ferromagnetic materials, which are strongly attracted by magnetic fields and can be magnetized to become permanent magnets, producing magnetic fields themselves. Demagnetizing a magnet is also possible. Only a few substances are ferromagnetic; the most common ones are iron, cobalt, and nickel and their alloys. The rare-earth metals neodymium and samarium are less common examples. The prefix ' refers to iron because permanent magnetism was first observed in lodestone, a form of natural iron ore called magnetite, Fe3O4. All substances exhibit some type of ...

Various toy companies around the world have licensed Beyblade toys for their own regions, including Hasbro in Western countries, Sonokong in Korea, and Takara Tomy for Eastern countries. Both the toys and their names were inspired by , a traditional spinning top. The concept is similar to Battling Tops, a board game developed by Ideal Toy Company in 1968. The toy line was introduced with an accompanying manga series of the same name in 1999. In 2002, Hasbro began to sell Beyblade toys internationally (under license from Takara) along with a coordinated country-by-country release of localized versions of the TV series. Battling Tops
''Battling Tops'' is a children's game invented by Eddy Goldfarb and first manufactured by Ideal in 1968. In the game, players launch spinning tops into an arena with the aim to have the final standing spinning top. The game has similarities to '' gasing pangkah'', a traditional Malay sport. Game play Two to four players launch spinning tops into an arena. The object of the game is to have the last standing spinning top. The game takes place on a circular concave arena with four spinning top launch positions. Players wind a string (attached to a pull tab) around their tops, place them in the launch positions, then pull the tab vigorously to release the top. The concave surface forces the tops together to battle. The outcome is somewhat indeterminate, but there is a slight element of skill. Pegs in holes on the rim of the arena mark victories. The first to win ten battles wins the game. Characters There were six different colored tops to choose from—Hurricane Hank, Twirling Tim ...
