Battle Of The River Cherna
The Battle of the Crna bend was a two-month-long battle between the Kingdom of Bulgaria, Bulgarian and the Allies of World War I, Entente armies. The battle took place in the Macedonian front during the First World War Allied Monastir Offensive in October and November 1916. After extremely heavy fighting and severe casualties on both sides, the Bulgarians retreated from Bitola on the 19 November and took positions at 5 km to the north by defeating all later attacks from there. However, the Entente entry in Bitola had no strategic value.Mann, A. The Battle of the Crna Bend was a major military engagement fought between the forces of the Central Powers and the Entente in May 1917. It was part of the Allied Spring Offensive of the same year that was designed to break the stalemate on the Macedonian Front. Despite the considerable numerical and matériel advantage of the attackers over the defenders, the Bulgarian and German defense of the positions in the loop of the river Crna remained a very formidable obstacle, which the Allies were unable to defeat not only in 1917 but until the end of the war itself. Gradešnica ( mk, Градешница) is a village in the Municipality of Novaci of North Macedonia, located in the northwestern foothills of the Voras Mountains. Baba (North Macedonia)
Baba ( mk, Баба; or Baba Mountain, mk, Баба Планина, Baba Planina), or also known by the name of its highest peak, Pelister ( mk, Пелистер), is a mountain in North Macedonia. The Pelister peak (2601 metres, or 8533 feet) overlooks the city of Bitola. Baba is the third highest mountain in North Macedonia. Kremenica
Kremenica () is a settlement immediately southeast of Ig in central Slovenia. The entire Municipality of Ig is part of the traditional region of Inner Carniola. It is included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region. Church The local church, built on a small hill in the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Ulrich ( sl, sveti Urh) and belongs to the Parish of Ig. It was built in the 17th century on the site of an earlier church. Even though the church is dedicated to Saint Ulrich, the villagers venerate Saint Valentine more. In the past, the church's painting of Saint Valentine was temporarily moved from the side altar to the main altar on his feast day, and now it is displayed there permanently.
