Batik Air
Batik Air is an Indonesian scheduled airline which was founded in 2012 and made its maiden flight on 3 May 2013 from Jakarta to Manado and Yogyakarta. History Lion Air, the parent company, established Batik Air as a full-service airline which began operations in May 2013 using a Boeing 737-900ERs leased from Lion Air. Batik Air's 737-900ERs were fitted with two-class seating, replacing Lion Air's two-class 737-900ER service. Batik Air provides a personal television (In-flight entertainment, in-flight entertainment system) in every seat, light snacks and free meals, seat pitches of for economy class and for business class, and a free baggage allowance of for economy class and for business class. The Airbus A330 is a wide-body aircraft developed and produced by Airbus. Airbus conceived several derivatives of the A300, its first airliner in the mid-1970s. Then the company began development on the A330 twinjet in parallel with the A340 quadjet and launched both designs with their first orders in June 1987. Batik is an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the whole cloth. This technique originated from the island of Java, Indonesia. Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a ''canting'', or by printing the resist with a copper stamp called a ''cap''. The applied wax resists dyes and therefore allows the artisan to colour selectively by soaking the cloth in one colour, removing the wax with boiling water, and repeating if multiple colours are desired. Batik is an ancient art form of Indonesia made with wax resistant dye on fabrics. Indonesian coastal batik (''batik pesisir'') made in the island of Java has a history of acculturation, a mixture of native and foreign cultures. A codeshare agreement, also known simply as codeshare, is a business arrangement, common in the aviation industry, in which two or more airlines publish and market the same flight under their own airline designator and flight number (the "airline flight code") as part of their published timetable or schedule. Typically, a flight is operated by one airline (technically called an "administrating carrier" or "operating carrier") while seats are sold for the flight by all cooperating airlines using their own designator and flight number.
