Bathing Franky
''Bathing Franky'' is a 2012 Australian film directed by Owen Elliott. The movie was released on 26 May 2012 and centers on a young man struggling to reconnect with his life after being released from prison. Synopsis Ex-con Steve (Shaun Goss) is unable to entirely cope with his recent release from prison. He's not able to hold a successful relationship with his girlfriend (Bree Desborough) due to his past interactions with another man in prison. Steve tries to re-integrate into society by taking a job delivering "Meals on Wheels" to various people. Through this job he becomes acquainted with Rodney (Henri Szeps), who cares for his invalid mother (Maria Venuti), and with whom he develops a friendship. Bree Bain (née Desborough; born 22 September 1979) is an Australian actress. She is known for her role as Justine Welles in the soap opera ''Home and Away''. Meals on Wheels is a programme that delivers meals to individuals at home who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals. The name is often used generically to refer to home-delivered meals programmes, not all of which are actually named "Meals on Wheels". Many of the housebound recipients are the elderly, and many of the volunteers are also elderly but able-bodied and able to drive automobiles. Research shows that home-delivered meal programmes significantly improve diet quality, reduce food insecurity and improve quality-of-life among the recipients. Henri Szeps OAM, (born 2 October 1943) alternatively Henry Szeps, is an Australian character actor of theatre and television. He has also featured in films and worked in voice roles, and has worked in productions in the United Kingdom. Early life Szeps was born in Lausanne, Switzerland to Polish parents. Due to the German invasion of Poland during World War II, his parents fled to France in 1938. His father left the family to join the French Resistance. In 1943, his mother and three-year-old sister made their way to a refugee camp in Lausanne, where Henri was born. At 1 months he was fostered to a Swiss couple in Blumenstein. His mother reclaimed him when he was three years old, and returned to the Swiss couple when he was 4. Maria Francesia Anna Venuti (born 7 March 1941) is an Australian actress, entertainer and author, who has appeared in numerous stage, television shows and film productions, over 50 years. Venuti is a singer, as well as an accomplished pianist who is noted for her work in cabaret and supper clubs, including working throughout Asia. Diarmid Heidenreich (born 1975) is an Australian film and television actor. Heidenreich graduated from Waverley College in Sydney's east, in 1993 before going on to become a well-known actor.
