Batak Municipality ( bg, Община Батак) is a municipality in the Pazardzhik Province of Bulgaria. Demography At the 2011 census, the population of Batak was 6,144. Most of the inhabitants (53.46%) were Bulgarians, and there were significant minorities of Gypsies/Romani (3.43%) and Turks (38.34%). 4.6% of the population's ethnicity was unknown. Pazardzhik Province ( bg, Област Пазарджик ''Oblast Pazardzhik'', former name Pazardzhik okrug) is a province in Southern Bulgaria, named after its administrative and industrial centre - the city of Pazardzhik. A nova (plural novae or novas) is a transient astronomical event that causes the sudden appearance of a bright, apparently "new" star (hence the name "nova", which is Latin for "new") that slowly fades over weeks or months.
