Basketbrawl
''Basketbrawl'' is a sports video game released for the Atari 7800 in 1990, then for the Atari Lynx in 1992. It is a basketball simulation which allows hitting and fighting with other players. The name is a portmanteau of ''basketball'' and '' brawl''. It is similar to the 1989 Midway arcade game ''Arch Rivals'' which had the tagline "A basket brawl!" Atari Lynx Games
The Atari Lynx is a 16-bit handheld game console developed by Atari Corporation and designed by Epyx, released in North America in 1989, with a second revision called Lynx II being also released worldwide on July 1991. It was the second and last handheld console to be released under the Atari brand, succeeding the handheld iteration of '' Touch Me'' from 1978. Unveiled at the January's 1989 Winter Consumer Electronics Show as the Handy before being rechristened as the Lynx, the system was released to compete with 8-bit and 16-bit handheld consoles such as the Game Boy, Game Gear and TurboExpress, initially starting off successfully. Atari 7800
The Atari 7800 ProSystem, or simply the Atari 7800, is a home video game console officially released by Atari Corporation in 1986 as the successor to both the Atari 2600 and Atari 5200. It can run almost all Atari 2600 cartridges, making it one of the first consoles with backward compatibility. It shipped with a different model of joystick from the 2600-standard CX40 and '' Pole Position II'' as the pack-in game. Most of the announced titles at launch were ports of 1981–83 arcade video games. Designed by General Computer Corporation, the 7800 has significantly improved graphics hardware over Atari's previous consoles, but the same Television Interface Adaptor chip that launched with the 2600 in 1977 is used to generate audio. ''Arch Rivals'' is a basketball sports video game released by Midway for arcades in 1989. Billed by Midway as "A Basket Brawl", the game features two-on-two full court basketball games in which players are encouraged to punch opposing players and steal the ball from them. ''Arch Rivals'' was the second basketball video game released by Midway, sixteen years after ''TV Basketball'' (1974). ''Arch Rivals'' allows players to select from a variety of fictional teams (although arcade operators can change the team names to reflect real ones) and players.
