''Basket Case 3: The Progeny'' is a 1991 American comedy horror slasher film written and directed by Frank Henenlotter. It is the third and final installment of the '' Basket Case'' series. It was released on DVD by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment in 2004. Synapse Films released a new DVD on October 9, 2012. Plot After crudely trying to sew his monstrous former conjoined twin Belial back onto his side at the end of the previous film, Duane Bradley is reseparated from Belial and put in a straitjacket and padded cell in Granny Ruth's haven for "unique" (deformed) individuals. After several months of captivity, Duane is released by Granny Ruth, who is preparing to take everyone on a road trip to the home of her ex-husband, Doctor Hal Rockwell. He will help in giving birth to Belial's equally misshapen girlfriend Eve's babies. Frank Henenlotter
Frank Henenlotter (born August 29, 1950) is an American film director, screenwriter and film historian. He is known primarily for directing horror comedies, especially '' Basket Case'' (1982), ''Brain Damage'' (1988), and ''Frankenhooker'' (1990). Despite being known as a horror filmmaker, Henenlotter has expressed a preference for being classified as an " exploitation" filmmaker, stating in 2010: "I never felt that I made 'horror films'. I always felt that I made exploitation films. Exploitation films have an attitude more than anything – an attitude that you don't find with mainstream Hollywood productions. They're a little ruder, a little raunchier, they deal with material people don't usually touch on, whether it's sex or drugs or rock and roll." Heather Rattray is an American actress who has starred in several movies and soap operas. Her acting career began when she was 11 years old, when she was discovered by a film producer. She has appeared in several family features co-starring with Robert Logan, including '' Across the Great Divide'', ''Mountain Family Robinson'', ''Suburb in the Wild'', and '' The Sea Gypsies''.
