It was named for Joseph Baschor, an early settler. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and 0.03% is water. The city of Comfrey is within the township geographically but is a separate entity. Lakes There are no lakes in Bashaw Township, however Altermatt Lake lies just outside the northeast corner of the township.
