The Barwick Baronetcy, of Ashbrooke Grange, in the Borough of Sunderland, in the County of County Durham, was a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 1 February 1912 for the coalfitter and shipowner John Storey Barwick. It became extinct upon the death of his grandson, the third baronet, in 1979, who had a stepson Robert Barwick Ward, but no direct heir. Daniel Workman Barwick (born June 21, 1968) is an American author, fundraiser, journalist, podcaster, higher education administrator, and teacher. He was the President of Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas. Biography and education Barwick was born in New Hartford, New York, and raised in Utica, New York. Following high school, he attended school in Strangnas, Sweden, as a Rotary International Exchange Student, returning to the United States in 1987 to attend the State University of New York College at Geneseo, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then earned a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Iowa, studying under Panayot Butchvarov. He earned his PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where Barry Smith served as his dissertation advisor. Iddesleigh is a village and civil parish in the county of Devon, England. The settlement has ancient origins and is listed in the ''Domesday Book''. The village lies on the B3217 road, roughly central in its parish of around , about north of the town of Okehampton. Iddesleigh has been described as an attractive small village, with good views of Dartmoor to the south. Its church is a grade I listed building and there are a number of other listed buildings in the parish. Barwick is a scattered hamlet and civil parish in the north-west part of the English county of Norfolk. It is situated adjacent to the slightly larger village of Stanhoe, some north-east of King's Lynn and north-west of the city of Norwich. The civil parish has an area of around 2 square miles, and in the 2001 census it had a population of 21 in 8 households. In the 2011 Census, the population remained less than 100 and was included in the civil parish of Docking. For local government, the parish falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. Barwick is a village and parish in Somerset, England, about south of Yeovil in the South Somerset district and on the border with Dorset. The parish, which includes the village of Stoford, has a population of 1,221. Barwick-in-Elmet (pronounced ''Barrick-in-Elmet'') is a village in West Yorkshire, east of Leeds city centre. It is one of only three places in the area to be explicitly associated with the ancient Romano-British kingdom of Elmet, the others being Scholes-in-Elmet and Sherburn-in-Elmet. The village is part of the civil parish of Barwick in Elmet and Scholes and sits in the Harewood ward of Leeds City Council.
