Barton Peveril Sixth Form College
Barton Peveril Sixth Form College was, in 2011, the seventh largest sixth form college in the UK, located in Eastleigh, Hampshire, UK with approximately 4,000 students. It is part of the Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges. History Originally Barton Peveril School was a temporary school, founded in 1904 by the local County Education Authority, to meet the demands of the new railway town of Eastleigh. It had two long-serving head teachers, with Miss Annie Smith at the reins from the start until her retirement in 1936 and then Mr Harry Newnham Reed Moore (1897--1991), who again only left to retire in 1963. He was succeeded by Mr R. E. Bowyer. As the school expanded, larger premises were required, with a house named ''Barton Peveril'' purchased by 1918, which later gave its name to the institution officially recognised as Eastleigh County Secondary School, Barton Peveril. Kevin John Latouf (born 7 September 1985) is a South African born English cricketer. Latouf is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium pace. He was born at Pretoria, Transvaal Province. Educated at Millfield School before progressing to Barton Peveril Sixth Form College, Latouf first played for England Under-19 in 2005, at both youth Test and One Day International. Cycling At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's Team Pursuit
The women's cycling team pursuit at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held at the London Velopark on 3 and 4 August. The Great Britain team consisting of Dani King, Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell won the gold medal in world record-breaking time. Including pre-Olympic races and the Olympic final itself, in the six times they had ridden together they had broken the world record in every race. Sarah Hammer, Dotsie Bausch and Jennie Reed of the United States took the silver medal and Canada's Tara Whitten, Gillian Carleton and Jasmin Glaesser won bronze. Dani King
Danielle 'Dani' Rowe MBE (née King; born 21 November 1990) is a British former road and track cyclist. She retired from cycling in December 2018. A team pursuit gold medallist from the London Olympics in 2012, Rowe also won three consecutive world titles in the women's team pursuit, winning in 2011, (with Laura Trott and Wendy Houvenaghel), 2012 (with Trott and Joanna Rowsell), and 2013 (with Trott and Elinor Barker). Rowing At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's Eight
The men's eight competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London took place at Dorney Lake which, for the purposes of the Games venue, was officially termed Eton Dorney. It was held from 28 July to 1 August. There were 8 boats (72 competitors) from 8 nations. The event was won by Germany, the nation's first victory as "Germany" (the United Team of Germany, East Germany, and West Germany had combined for 5 gold medals). The German team beat the defending champions Canada, who took silver. Great Britain also slipped one place from their 2008 silver, taking bronze this time. Background This was the 26th appearance of the event. Rowing had been on the programme in 1896 but was cancelled due to bad weather. James Foad
James Foad (born 20 March 1987) is an English rower. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he was part of the British crew that won the bronze medal in the men's eight. He was the 2015 European Champion in the men's pair, along with Matt Langridge. Biography James started rowing at the age of 11 at Itchen Rowing Club, following in his father's footsteps. By the time he was 17 he had won the Junior Sculls Championships for the Hants and Dorset region and was the youngest person to win this. The following year he trialled for the GB Junior Team and was selected to row in the M4+ at the World Junior Championships in Brandenburg. He raced with the senior men's squad in 2009, winning a bronze medal in the eight at the first World Cup in Banyoles, and was placed 8th in the second British men's four in Munich. Wade Patrick Elliott (born 14 December 1978) is an English former professional footballer who is currently head coach of EFL League One club Cheltenham Town. He played mainly as a right midfielder but could also play as a central midfielder. Elliott began playing football as a youth player for Southampton before joining non-league Bashley.
