Barton Koch
Barton "Botchey" Koch (April 22, 1907 – April 28, 1964) was an American college football player. He was the first consensus All-America football player from the Southwest Conference. He was elected to the Baylor Sports Hall of Fame in 1961, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 1967 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 1974. He was named to the All Time Texas High School Team by ''Texas Football'' magazine in 1968 and to the "50-Year Super Stars" of the Southwest Conference by Texas Football magazine in 1969. In 1984, he was added to the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center.
